HEAVER magazines is the stylish quarterly publication which I created and headed up as Editor.

London-based property company Heaver commissioned me to create a brand new local property and lifestyle magazine to attract new clients and build on their already well-respected reputation. The aim of the game was to celebrate the best of south-west London – restaurants, celebrities, style, property – and present it in an aspirational fashion with a quality to rival national glossies.

What did we do? The whole shebang from concept and positioning to full-glory glossy magazine.

Not one to shy away from a big juicy project, I hand-picked London’s finest freelancers for the HEAVER magazine team, including designers, photographers and illustrators. I commissioned local comedian Arthur Smith to write a quarterly column, philosopher Julian Baggini to ponder life’s bizarre and mysterious quandaries and Gordon Ramsay to share recipes. I also interviewed a host of local celebrities including fashion designer Orla Keily.

My bespoke service covered creative strategy, editorial content, photography, illustration, project management, copy editing, proofing and print management…

Click the magic link: WooWooExpress.com

Teleporting through lands lit by myriad ideas shining like giant disco-balls, Woo Woo is a celebration of outlandish expression and colourful characters… Of cultivated wonderworlds and universes within universes; of pootling around imaginations and dancing through unchartered territories to the beat of your own drum; of ancient cultish rituals and the magic of altered states; of peeling back the layers of a Russian doll’s existence and discovering technicolour dreamworlds.
Come, marvel at the utopias of the mind as they manifest future legends and artefacts of psychedelic glory…

Rapturous cheering, clapping and various types of hopping, skipping and jumping for joy filled the studio when I heard that the eco-style blog I created, wrote and published won a Green award.

Launched back in 2006, the pioneering online magazine celebrating all things cool, ethical and sustainable, received much acclaim and media love across the globe. Featured in Vogue, Elle, The Times, The Guardian, Time Out, Marie Claire, Chris Evans’ Radio 2 show and various other TV programmes and books.

Now defunct and looking positively vintage, I keep it live for prosperity. And why not? It’s where my glorious writing adventure all began…

…Ushered in by the friendly porter past neat black window canopies, I had arrived at Witt Suites. It’s no surprise that this modern-retro haven is a hot favourite with visiting fashionistas and artists.

…But not to be outdone by its spanking-new decor is the solid service, which was instantly highlighted upon arrival with the appearance of Michele Mella, the charming Italian manager. In the midst of orchestrating a 30th birthday picnic beneath the shade of a tree, this ‘host with the most’ was taking full enjoyment in his to-ing and fro-ing, ensuring that all was well in the world of Barnsley House. Whilst we indulged in freshly-made scones on the terrace overlooking the perfectly manicured formal gardens, Michele occassionally stopped for a friendly chat, even extending his hospitality to guests’ little ones, who were treated like mini VIPs. It is such omnipresent warmth that sets this place apart. In fact, I would go so far as to say that every hotel needs a Michele! …

But since Berlin, I fear my love affair with London may be over. One mind-blowing weekend together last month and I have thought of little else.
When no-one is looking I even find myself searching for loft apartments on the internet so that we can be re-united.
Could I really be thinking of leaving my beloved London for another city? Oh mein lieblings! Could I? Would I? …
